Over all achievements :
  1. The Department Of Pharmacy Practice, Al-Ameen College Of Pharmacy, is the only existing collaboration between the government hospital & the private educational institution.
  2. Our department was the first one to start ADR monitoring & reporting in the hospital.
  3. We were the ones to initiate the Drugs & Therapeutic Committee in the hospital.
  4. Clinical Pharmacy Services, such as, Drug information, Patient counseling & Pharamacovigilance was initiated by our department in the hospital.

  • Recipient of the 2006 STARS Award for Teachers for Excellence in Academic Research in recognition of merit in academic research and motivation to further the research of young minds on 25th July 2006.
  • Winner of the Shri Murgeppa Sirse Memorial Award 2006 for the best poster of the convention for the research work entitled Application of Plackett Burman Screening Design in the Formulation of Ultra deformable Liposome’s at the APTI - 11th Annual National Convention, held during 1st 3rd September, 2006 at Bangalore .
  • Awarded the Best paper title for the research paper entitled Actualizing Total Quality under Professional Pharmacy, GMP and TQM at the 51st Indian Pharmaceutical Congress held at Indore during 18th to 20th1999.
  • Best Research Paper Award won at the IPGA conference held at Madurai on 13th and 14th September 1997 for the research paper entitled Solid dispersions of Nimesulide.

  • Won the Best poster award for the poster entitled Assessment of Drug Information Services in a hospital based drug information centre in Bangalore - Preliminary findings under the Pharmacy Practice section at the 23rd IPGA National conference.
  • Won the Best paper award (oral presentation) for the paper entitled Role of a pharmacist in improving the quality of treatment in in-patients under the Pharmacy Practice section at the Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety Conference, held at Bangalore during 11-12th Nov, 2006.
  • Won the Best paper award (oral presentation) for the research work entitled Optimization of formulation variables using central composite design in the formulation of flexible vesicles under the Pharmaceutics section at the 58th IPC, held at Mumbai during 1st 3rd Dec, 2006.
  • Recipient of Indian Pharmaceutical Association Shri Raman Bhai Patel Foundation(IPA-IRF) Travel Grant 2006 of Rs. 50,000/- for participation in Pharmaceutical Care Training at University of Minnesota, USA in Nov 2006.
  • Awarded II place for presentation in the II National Convention for Pharmacy Educators held under the aegis of Indian Pharmaceutical Association- Educational Division (IPA-ED) Convention at Coimbatore, in March 2006.
  • Recipient of a complete scholarship by the Swiss Agency for Development and Co-operation (SDC) of the Swiss Government for participation in the International Postgraduate Certificate Course on Rational Drug Management in International Health. This course, an advanced module of the Masters in International Health from TropEd ( a network of European institutions for higher education in International Health) was organized at Swiss Tropical Institute, University of Basel, Basel,Switzerland and University of Heidelberg, Germany, at the Swiss Tropical Institute in Basel.
